Dear Parents,

It is with great disappointment that we must inform you that Renaissance Charter School at Palms West will not open as planned for the 2012-2013 school year. This shocking development has occurred after a meeting last night with various parties associated with the sale of the Albertson’s building. Due to unforeseen complications with the real estate transaction, we have experienced insurmountable delays in the commencement of the construction necessary to open the school by August. At this time we are no longer able to meet a construction timeline that would guarantee completion by the first day of school. We always put students first in every decision we make and we believe that it is in the best interest of students and parents to inform you immediately of this development so that you have plenty of time to find another option for the upcoming school year.

We are grateful for the overwhelming support you have shown and are mindful of the desire of choice in your community. This has been an incredibly difficult decision and one that we have never had to make in all the years we have successfully built and opened schools. As we move forward, if we identify another site for a school in the future, we will communicate that clearly with all of you. We deeply regret the inconvenience that this has caused you and your family. Thank you for your gracious understanding. We truly hope to be able to provide a high quality education option for you in the future.
